The LPR design and planning team meet the South Downs National Park design review committee today. This is our first step towards submitting an outline planning application for 3.5 acres of the Phoenix Estate to build genuinely affordable homes and renovate the Ironworks buildings so we can keep manufacturing, creative industries and social enterprises in the heart of our town.
We will be seeking the committee’s feedback on how to improve our plans. Following this meeting, we will carry out further work on our designs before returning for a second review in the autumn.
A BIG thank you…
… to all the fabulously generous guests, auction item donors, helpers and Pelham House Hotel for making our fundraising auction dinner on Friday 29 May such a resounding success.
The money raised will go towards our outline planning application. It will also allow us to conduct a robust financial appraisal to show how the whole 14-acre site could be developed sustainably to deliver the 400 homes required by policy, as well as providing substantial basic workspace, additional homes at social rents and required infrastructure.

Thanks for all your support
