WOW! The Phoenix March through Lewes on Saturday, led by Mayor Susan Murray
Attendance ranged from 850 to over 1,000 as people of all ages and walks of life protested the threat to Lewes’ independent businesses, community and unique character if the Santon/LDC plans get the go-ahead from the South Downs National Park Authority this Thursday. They were asking for a better and more sustainable development that includes innovative and affordable homes and the retention of the Ironworks buildings to provide workspace for the local industries, social enterprises and youth venues.
Starfish Music Studios, North Street Garage, the Dance Academy, Back to the Grain, Waterside Architects, Compass Buses, Foundry Workshops, Community Chef, Lewes Car Wash, Pop-Up and Zu Studios, Tenants of Lewes District Council, William Hardie Designs and loads of kids from the Skatehouse and the Dance Academy were there – were you?
